The Rijsttafel Club officially kicked off last Sunday, January 27. A group of 42 culinary enthusiasts flocked to the restaurant where we had organized a traditional Rijsttafel – a range of Indonesian specialties served Dutch style. An impression of this elaborate meal could be enjoyed at the venue on the West Side – LA.
There are different venues being reviewed for future gatherings. We will schedule a number of these Rijsttafel experiences this year during lunch time.
Also cooking classes and demonstrations are in the works on how to prepare and assemble a Rijsttafel. Special attention will be given to some of these featured dishes: gado gado, sate ajam and rendang.
