Inspired by the much talked about ‘steamy’ cover of the Dutch L’Homo Magazine (special edition by the makers of Linda Magazine), this is my ‘tongue in cheek’ response; L’Indo (French for The Indo*). Since the posting of my cover, I have received requests from fans as to where they might pick up this new magazine.
The latest L’Homo cover is going around the world and getting attention. Mainly, because two straight Dutch television presenters got naked and intimate to tackle homophobia and the other reason is the alleged ‘Photoshop Fail.’ It appears that Jan Versteeg is missing an arm. He says his long arm is behind Tim Hofman. What do you think?
Linda is a women’s magazine by Dutch TV-personality Linda de Mol (a bit like ‘O’ The Oprah Magazine). Special editions of the magazine are: L’HOMO, LINDA.MODE, LINDA.MEIDEN, LINDA.WONEN, LINDA.MAN and who knows after this article L’INDO.
I took this opportunity to draw attention to my cause and that is to address ‘indo-cooking-phobia’ (the fear of cooking Indo food). Many people think this style of cooking is intimidating, too labor intensive and that it is all about Indonesian cooking. Then you have those who think it’s ‘old fashioned,’ food about times gone by and it is often associated with grandma’s cooking. Then you have people who never heard of it. Unknown makes unloved!
Who says a ‘quicky’ is not possible? Let me tell you, Indo (from Indo Dutch, Dutch Indies) cooking offers a myriad of tastebud pleasers; from simple and sexy to hot and heavenly!
So, let’s get cookin’. If you live in the US you can order the special edition of Indo Dutch Kitchen Secrets here.
* Indo; short for Indo European or Indo Dutch – being of mixed descent.
