That time in my life that I took a greater interest in my heritage, helped me better understand, in part, who I am. When looking at my peers with similar backgrounds and roots, I recognized that many had this yearning to discover who they are, where they fit in and their role in this world. Especially for some adults who had questions about their ‘Indodentity’, a study of our heritage can bring many answers. Indo-Europeans (Indos / Indo Dutch) are of mixed descent and their sub-culture is threatened with extinction. Culture is the key for people to identify themselves and fit in the group. Culture is made up of a collection of people’s behaviors, language and traditions. Networks and relationships are build according to those cultural ideas. On the internet we see a strong growth of Indo groups forming with similar cultural ideas. There is this desire to belong, to preserve, to show a sense of pride in heritage and to pass this on. In the spirit of support, I would like to ask your attention for my Indo friends in the US who are sharing that same sentiment to promoting our Indo heritage:
