The “pilot” online Cook-Along with Keasberry is a wrap. The audience was our group of Dutch entrepreneurs who meet periodically for roundtable dinners. Due to covid19, with people staying at home, social distancing, I thought it would be a good opportunity to test my new online cooking class concept. As opposed to giving a demonstration and participants taking notes, they could cook-along. I sent a shopping list a week prior to the session. I encourage improvisation, using substitutes and whatever is found in fridge and pantry. The concept was well received. The opportunity to ask questions and also witnessing each others meals coming together is fun. The pay-off was to show each other the end product and holding up the bowl to the camera. Of course eating it with the sounds of approval was the bonus. I was impressed by the collective results.
We cooked something that was inspired by Internet Noodles, the name of a popular street food in Indonesia. To learn how to make this easy recipe yourself click here. For the near future I will be scheduling online cook-along sessions. Featuring easy to prepare Indonesian inspired food. Cooking with what’s on hand. I will challenge you to be creative and learn to improvise. There’s a strong sense of pride and accomplishment that comes from cooking your own meals; from taking ingredients and combining them to make something delicious. Remember; fun starts in the kitchen!
